How awesome would it be to have your own Starbucks milk foamer at home to make your own amazing fluffy and authentic cold foam at home and add it to your coffee drinks.

The Starbucks Verismo is a great option and what we will discuss in this article, so stay tuned and keep reading as we dig down and give our opinion about this Starbucks milk foamer.

What Is A Milk Foamer?

A milk foamer is an essential piece of coffee brewing equipment if you want to make gourmet quality coffee at home. They are various types of milk foamer ranging from an electric milk frother that is handheld, battery powered or powered by mains electricity.

There are even some excellent milk foamer that are manually operated – a fine example of this is your humble French press.

Foaming or frothing milk is easy and is produced by forcing air into your milk and aerating it. When you aerate your milk, it alters the texture of your milk, and when heated alters the flavor slightly, which helps it to compliment the flavor of your coffee.

What Is Special About The Starbucks Milk Foamer?

Starbucks milk foamer is special because it is not an ordinary milk foamer or a regular blender that they use. It is a blender that has been custom-made, engineered and designed specifically for the company and for making top-quality milk foam for the coffee drinks that they make.

It is a bladeless blender that has a 20-ounce capacity. Unfortunately exact details are scarce and Starbucks is keeping tight-lipped. Their milk foamer is designed to make its cold foam reach the peak thickness and creamy texture.

What I Like About This Starbucks Milk Foamer

There are obviously a lot of plus points to this high quality milk foamer. Here are the main points that caught my attention.

Hot Or Cold Foam

This is a great plus as it is out with what Starbucks uses their milk foamer for – they use it only to create cold foam. Their hot foam is steamed milk. Having the option of both hot or cold foam is an obvious plus – giving you the benefit of being able to make the required foam for a variety of different coffee drinks.

If you want to make hot foam for a cappuccino or a latte, for example, all that you need to do is to press the power button down for a second.

For high quality cold foam, just use milk that is straight from your fridge and press the button down for 3 seconds.

In both cases, it only takes two minutes for your frothed milk to be ready.

The Compact Size

This milk frother is not going to take up a lot of countertop space in your kitchen. It consumes about the same amount of space, if even that much as a standard sized coffee carafe.

It is lightweight at just over a kilo (2.3 pounds) and if your space is tight you can easily store it in your cupboard.

The size is compact enough to take on trips away with you.

Easy To Clean

Due to the temperature setting which ensures when you are making hot frothy milk, the verismo frother by Starbucks does not burn your milk.

It is double walled with a non-stick stain resistant layer which makes the cleaning of the area where you put your milk very easy to clean. A simple wipe with a wet or damp cloth is all that is needed.

You should absolutely not put your milk frother in your dishwasher or submerge it in water.

Safety

The verismo frother has a well-thought-out safety feature – the auto shut-off. You don’t have to strain or stress yourself about forgetting to switch it off; it does this automatically.

What I Do Not Like

There are a couple of snags and dislikes. One that I nor you can do anything about is the small capacity – you will at most be able to froth only two cups of milk at most.

It is not a game changer if you are only making a cup of coffee for yourself but when you have one or more friends over for coffee you will need to make your frothy milk in batches which is only a slight inconvenience.

Some users have commented that the milk does not quite reach the desired temperature first time and the need to heat it for a second time. This is very typical of Starbucks and their luke warm coffee and perhaps is designed that way.
