The Venti drink size, 24 Oz (720 ml), is a popular drink size ordered for the Starbucks Pink Drink and has a caffeine content of 45 mg of caffeine.
This is the equivalent of a small bottle of Coca-Cola.
Knowing the caffeine content will help you to judge if the drink is suitable for your children and of course yourself.
Your caffeine intake should be well managed, especially for young children and if you have health conditions that mean you must monitor your caffeine consumption.
The recommended safe limits for pregnant and breastfeeding ladies is 200 mg per day and 400 mg for healthy adults.
Venti Pink Drink Calories
If you are on a diet and managing your calorie intake, it is obviously of interest to watch your calorie intake.
A Venti 24 Oz (720 ml) Starbucks Strawberry Acai refresher, better known as the Pink drink, has 200 calories.
Regardless of being on a diet or not, 200 calories in a single drink is, in my opinion, a lot. Keep in mind that these are mostly empty calories with very little to no nutritional value with most of the calories coming from sugar.
Venti Pink Drink Sugar Content
The amount of sugar that is in a pink drink in the Venti 24 Oz (720 ml) is most certainly something that you want to keep an eye on.
Before I reveal how much sugar is in a Venti 24 Oz (720 ml) pink drink let’s first talk for a moment about what is considered as a health consumption of total sugar in a single 24-hour period.
At Latte Love Brew, we encourage you to remain within the limits set by what we consider to be the best source of information on this topic, the American Heart Association.
After all they have your heart health at the forefront of their mind.
Their suggested limits are 27 grams per day for women and 36 grams per day for men.
The Starbucks Venti Pink Drink has 36 grams of sugar which is over the suggested daily intake for women and right on the limit for men, which completely rules out this drink as it is unlikely that you will consume zero sugar during the next 24 hours.
Starbucks Pink Drink Name
The proper and correct name for a Starbucks Pink Drink is the Strawberry Acai refresher. You’ll find the drink listed under Starbucks refreshers menu.
Pink Drink Ingredients
In our cool coffee community I get a lot of questions asking about the Pink Drink Ingredients and what is in a Pink Drink.
Here are the four basic ingredients that are used to make the eye-catching pink drink:
- Coconut Milk.
- Strawberry Acai Juice.
- Freeze Dried Acai Juice.
Ice at Starbucks should not concern you at all as the coffee conglomerate triple filters the water used to their ice.
The amount and concentration of ingredients varies depending on the drink size that you have ordered, and you can request the beverage to be customized and order more or less of any ingredient and swap out ingredients to your heart’s desire.
An example of this is the number of scoops of Strawberry’s used. As a standard all drink sizes have a single scoop while a Trenta 30 Oz (900 ml) has a double scoop.
This means that as a standard serving you’ll have a greater concentration of Strawberries in a Tall 12 Oz (360 ml) drink size than any other drink size. Of course, you can alter this by request an additional scoop.
You can do the same with coconut milk; request extra. Extra coconut milk is always a great idea due to the countless health benefits.
Coconut milk is loaded with nutrients and is famed for the MCT, Medium Chain Fatty Acids, which are great for your cardiovascular health. including helping to lower your bad cholesterol levels and raising the good.
Another two great beneficial effects include aiding your hydration due to the electrolyte content and a lovely compound, lauric acid, which has antimicrobial and antiviral properties.
Which in my opinion makes coconut milk a great addition for flu season and for the summer to help with your hydration.
Let’s talk about the Strawberry Acai Base, the juice, which contains:
- White Grape Juice Concentrate.
- Natural Flavors.
- Green Coffee Flavor.
The caffeine content of the pink drink is contained in this juice due to the green coffee extract and the green coffee flavor. This is why you can’t get a caffeine-free pink drink.
Pink Drink Nutrition
Personally, I like to know the fat, sugar, caffeine, sodium, cholesterol and caffeine for the drinks at Starbucks as they are well known for selling, well, liquid cakes.
Check the table below for the details.
|Tall 12 Oz (360 ml).
|Grande 16 Oz (480 ml).
|Venti 24 (720 ml).
|Trenta 30 (900 ml).
In my opinion, the pink drink is something that is best to be enjoyed in moderation and as a once in a while treat.
It is above all, the sugar content that is a cause of concern for me. Even though the smallest drink size, a Tall 12 Oz (360 ml) serving has 19 grams of sugar and is below the daily maximum intake for both men and women, it allows very little sugar to be consumed through the rest of the day.
The 17 gram difference between the amount of sugar in the drink and the amount permitted for me (36 grams) might seem like a lot, it’s not really!
It’s only a little more than 3 teaspoons. For women, it’s even less of a leeway, as only 8 grams more for the rest of the day is allowed, which is less than two teaspoons.
Due to the elevated sugar content, I suggest caution when your children are asking for it.
Hack the menu!
Order a Passion Tango Tea with no cane sugar, a splash of coconut milk, sugar-free vanilla syrup and a scoop of freeze-dried strawberries.
Viola, you have a sugar-free and caffeine-free pink drink.
(okay, it’s not the actual pink drink, but it is still tasty, delicious and your kids will not know any better!).

It’s not a coffee drink and does not taste like coffee at all. Even if it had full on green coffee instead of the extract it still would not taste like coffee as green coffee is very grassy and not at all drinkable.
