  • 2. 10 Ounces (300 ml) of milk, whole milk or 2% work best but you can also use nonfat milk, oat milk, soy milk, coconut milk and almond milk for more exotic options. Fill to no more than the max fill line and no less than the minimum fill line.
  • 3. Add chocolate chips and cocoa powder. Us the best quality that you can find. Hersheys and Ghirardelli are two great options.
  • 4. Put the cover on your electric milk frother and froth at a low speed. If it has a temperature setting heat to 160F (71 C) and a low speed froth. Electric milk frothers have settings that allow you to control the thickness of your drink.

Healthy Milk Frother Recipes

Almond Milk Cappuccino

An almond milk cappuccino is both keto friendly and dairy free. It’s an exotic way to make a cup of coffee. And no special equipment is needed other than your handheld milk frother. A home espresso machine is handy for brewing the espresso shots. You can emulate the strong coffee taste with your moka pot.

Ingredients Needed

  •  A single or double shot of coffee. 4 Oz (100 ml) of moka pot coffee.
  • A quarter or half a cup of almond milk. Use the Barista brand, it froths better.
  • The sweetener of your choice, coconut sugar works amazing!
  • A sprinkle of cocoa or chocolate shavings to decorate.

If you are using a moka pot to brew your strong coffee, you can heat your milk and brew your coffee at the same time. Use a very fine grind and a stronger than usual coffee to water ratio of 1:8 instead of 1:10.

Preheating your water to 70C makes a much tastier moka pot coffee.

Heating your almond milk, when you start to see vapor rising from your milk it is at the perfect temperature. When your milk is ready, add it to a tall glass and fill to no more than a third full. Add the sweetener of your choice and stir well.

Insert your handheld milk frother to the bottom of your milk and froth at a low speed for 30 seconds and move your frothing wand through your milk from bottom to top. After 30 seconds, switch to a high speed frothing if your frother has that option and move your wand through your milk from top to bottom for 30 seconds.

Your milk will be nice and fluffy and ready for pouring into your coffee. Use a spoon to hold back the bubbles and then scoop the froth onto your espresso or strong coffee.

Decorate with chocolate shavings or a sprinkle of cocoa and enjoy your great tasting cup of coffee.

Creamy Oat Milk Latte

Like almond milk, oat milk is a tasty low calorie and healthy option and perfect for you if you are lactose intolerant and looking for non-dairy milk. Oat milk is curiously brilliant in coffee, especially when you use a strong shot of espresso

Equipment Needed

  • A home espresso machine or a moka pot.
  • A saucepan.
  • A handheld milk frother

Ingredients Needed For Making A Creamy Oat Milk Latte

  • 30 grams (1 Oz) of finely ground coffee.
  • 60 ml (2 Oz) of mineral water or filtered water.
  • 1 cup of oat milk. Use the Barista brand; it is much better for frothing.
  • 1 teaspoon of honey or maple syrup (optional).
  • A sprinkle of cocoa powder or cinnamon to decorate.

The Method

Brew a doppio, a double shot of espresso, with your espresso machine or moka pot. With your moka pot use a more focused 1:8 coffee to water ratio for a better and stronger cup of coffee. Pre-heat your water to 70C (158F) before brewing your moka pot coffee.

Heat your oat milk on the stove to a low to medium heat and stir well. Add a teaspoon of maple syrup or honey. When you start to see steam rising from your milk it is at the perfect temperature. Don’t boil your milk. When you boil, you spoil!

Pour your hot milk into a tall glass and insert your milk frothing and put your milk frothing skills to good use. Insert your wand to the bottom of your milk and froth at a low speed for 30 seconds. Move your wand through your milk from bottom to top.

Froth at a high speed if your wand has this option for a further 30 seconds. Pour your frothed milk into your espresso and hold back the bubbles with a spoon. Top your latte with a layer of froth by scooping the froth on to it.

Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or cocoa powder.

Vanilla Mocha Iced Coffee

This is an amazing choice to enjoy on a hot day, iced coffee to the rescue!

Ingredients You Will Need

  • Double shot of espresso or 4 Oz of strong moka pot coffee.
  • Half a teaspoon of cocoa powder.
  • Half a teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  • Sweetner of your choice. Coconut sugar, brown sugar and the sugar substitute stevia work well.
  • Milk.
  • Ice.

The Method

Brew a double shot of espresso or a strong coffee using your moka pot. With your moka pot a coffee to water ratio of 1:8 is referred over the standard 1:10.

Preheating your water to 70C (158F) before adding it to your moka pot.

Heat your milk. Add the vanilla extract. Optional, slice a French vanilla pod and add it to your milk while heating it. Add your cocoa and sugar and mix well. When you start to see steam rising from your milk, it is at the perfect temperature.

Any hotter will destroy the milk fats and make it difficult to get a high quality froth.

Pour your hot milk into a tall glass and insert your milk frother to the bottom and start frothing at a low speed for 30 seconds. Move the wand through your milk slowly and evenly from the bottom to the top.

Then blend at high speed using the same method for a further 30 seconds. This will create a high quality milk froth.

Pour your coffee into a tall glass with ice and your frothy milk. Optional to decorate with cocoa powder or cinnamon.
